About Us
At internetchikss.com, we believe that digital literacy is a fundamental right and a gateway to economic opportunity, education and civic participation. Founded in Tempe, Arizona, our organization exists to bridge the digital divide, particularly for women and other underserved groups who have historically been left behind. In a world where technology touches every aspect of life—from job applications to healthcare, communication and voting—no one should be excluded from the skills and confidence needed to thrive online.
Our Story
The idea for internetchikss.com was born out of frustration and hope. While volunteering at local libraries, our founders saw firsthand how people struggled to access basic technology and digital services. Public libraries have long been centers for connection, learning and empowerment where people gain confidence with digital tools. Yet many visitors—particularly women and seniors—felt intimidated by computers or smartphones. They lacked guidance on tasks as simple as creating an email address or applying for jobs online.
At the same time, research and community feedback revealed a broader challenge: digital technologies offer unprecedented opportunities for women to overcome barriers in education, employment and entrepreneurship, but only when they have access to devices, connectivity and training. In many communities, the “digital gender divide” persists because women often lack devices and digital education due to socio‑economic and cultural constraints. Our founders knew that targeted support could change this narrative. Thus, InternetChicks was formed to provide free, accessible and inclusive digital literacy resources, mentorship and advocacy.
Our Mission & Vision
Mission
Our mission is to empower women and marginalized communities through digital literacy, mentorship and technology access. We strive to:
Provide inclusive learning resources. We offer tutorials, step‑by‑step guides and workshops covering everything from basic computer skills to coding, cybersecurity and online entrepreneurship.
Create safe, supportive spaces. Like the libraries that inspired us, we foster environments where people can build digital skills without fear of judgment.
Champion lifelong learning. We encourage continuous exploration of new technologies and personal growth for people of all ages and backgrounds.
Promote equity and accessibility. We advocate for policies and infrastructure that make devices, high‑speed internet and technology training accessible to all, regardless of gender, location or income.
Vision
We envision a world where digital literacy is universal, where women can fully participate in the digital economy and where communities leverage technology to thrive. We aspire to build an online hub where community support and technology combine to help individuals and families achieve their goals, fostering inclusivity and equity.
What We Do
Learning Resources & Courses
Our website is packed with free articles, video tutorials and downloadable guides designed to make digital skills approachable. Whether you’re learning to use email for the first time, brushing up on Microsoft Office, or exploring coding and web development, our resources provide step‑by‑step instructions and supportive feedback. Each resource is created with empathy, informed by evidence that digital literacy is essential for navigating the job market, accessing education, staying connected and participating in civic life.
Community Workshops
We host workshops and webinars, both online and in partnership with local libraries, schools and community centers. These sessions range from beginner‑friendly computer basics to advanced training in digital marketing, e‑commerce and cybersecurity. By bringing people together, we create safe, supportive spaces for building digital skills and cultivating a culture of lifelong learning.
Mentorship Programs
Our mentorship program pairs learners with experienced volunteers—professionals in technology, education and entrepreneurship. Mentors guide participants through learning paths, provide career advice and offer encouragement. We especially focus on empowering women to pursue opportunities in tech and related fields, reflecting research that digital technologies help women overcome traditional barriers.
Advocacy & Partnerships
We collaborate with libraries, nonprofits, schools and tech companies to advocate for inclusive digital policies. We support initiatives that expand device access, improve broadband infrastructure, and fund digital literacy programs. Through these partnerships, we aim to make technology more affordable and accessible, addressing the socio‑economic factors that drive the digital gender divide.
Community Stories & Spotlight
We celebrate success stories and highlight local heroes. Our blog features interviews with participants who have learned new skills, started businesses, or reconnected with family members thanks to digital literacy. By sharing these stories, we show that digital literacy empowers individuals to make informed decisions, pursue career opportunities and foster meaningful relationships.

Inclusivity
We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome. We acknowledge the diversity of backgrounds, identities and learning styles and strive to accommodate different needs. Our resources are designed to be accessible, culturally sensitive and adaptable for individuals with varying abilities.
